Drop the I-Word Campaign

In December 2010, the General Commission on Religion and Race (GCORR) proclaimed to the United Methodist Church that "No Child of God is "illegal", as they partnered with the national campaign to "Drop the I-Word" sponsored by the racial justice think tank Applied Research Center and ColorLines. At its core, this campaign aims to eliminate the use of the I-Word in our public and private conversations as a way of affirming the worth and dignity of all of God's people and removing a stereotype that is being used to target a specific racial ethnic group in the conversation on immigration reform.  GCORR is convinced that the best way to promote and educate the "Drop the I-Word" campaign is to establish and build and join relationships with annual conferences and local United Methodist churches around the United States. Email Cal-Pac PwJ Immigration Task Force Chair David Farley if you are interested in becoming a part of this campaigen:
